Alex Holliman: Crafting Legacy and Luxury Through FarrierBell Couture

From a small thrift store in Omaha, Nebraska, to the national spotlight on The Tamron Hall Show, fashion designer Alex Holliman has turned a childhood spark into a full-fledged legacy. As the Creative Director and CEO of FarrierBell Couture, Alex’s journey is one of resilience, artistry, and reverence for the women who inspired his creative path.

Born and raised in Omaha, Alex’s story began when he discovered a purse sewing machine while shopping with his grandmother. At just nine years old, he taught himself to sew, design, and construct garments, skills that quickly evolved into an undeniable talent. By the time he reached junior high and high school, Alex had already developed a signature style and creative process so advanced that he famously failed his sewing classes for “doing things his own way.”

In 2004, he founded FarrierBell Couture, a name paying homage to his late great-grandmother, Ruth Farrier Jackson, and his late grandmother, Tillie Bell Holliman. The brand reflects both his family’s enduring influence and his commitment to craftsmanship and storytelling through design. In 2007, Alex relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he expanded his brand and connected with the city’s dynamic creative scene. His designs have since been featured on national television and worn by celebrities, solidifying FarrierBell Couture as a name synonymous with innovation and elegance.

In 2024, Alex’s artistry reached new heights when he was selected from more than 500,000 applicants as an emerging designer featured on The Tamron Hall Show. During the televised segment, he created a custom look for Tamron Hall herself, and three designs from his collection were showcased before a national audience. The experience culminated with a surprise mentorship session led by legendary designer Michael Kors, who offered valuable insights on brand elevation and career advancement.

That same year, Alex faced a deeply personal loss, the passing of his beloved mother, his greatest supporter and muse. In tribute to her memory, he dedicated his upcoming 2025 “Linda May Collection” to honor her love, strength, and unwavering belief in his dreams.

Looking ahead, Alex Holliman’s mission is to see FarrierBell Couture represented in luxury retail spaces nationwide. Every piece he creates carries the essence of heritage, sophistication, and emotion, designed not just to be worn, but to be remembered.

As highlighted in Full Bloom Magazine, Alex’s work continues to inspire both fashion insiders and dreamers alike. Camille Marine, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Full Bloom Magazine, shares,

“Alex Holliman embodies what Full Bloom stands for, growth, creativity, and authenticity. His story isn’t just about fashion; it’s about resilience and honoring legacy through art. FarrierBell Couture represents the future of couture, grounded in purpose and heart.”
